The definition of cool

My friend and colleague, Lynne, had this great, tiny photograph of her parents when they were younger. This little picture was barely 2"x2".

For Fathers Day this year she wanted to give it to her dad, only jazzed up a little. What a great idea! So I made few repairs and decided to add a bit of fun colour and voila!

I can't even handle how cool these two look!

Stephanie and her bump!

On Easter Sunday I had the honour of shooting one of the sweetest people: Stephanie! She is a few weeks away from delivery and has the most perfect bump! She and Caleb joined me in and around the Bessborough for some very chilly pictures. Luckily we were able to sneak up to the third floor of the hotel to warm up and get a few bare belly shots. Here are some of my favourites!

Teaser! Stephanie's Baby Bump!

I had a wonderful, albeit chilly, morning on the river bank with Stephanie! She was a real trooper in the biting wind. Here is one of my favourite shots! More to come! Thanks Stephanie!

Early Morning River Walk

I had a maternity shoot scheduled for this morning, but when the wind starting howling and the snow started falling last night, the mom-to-be and I decided to postpone until better weather. As I was still in the mood to take pictures, Tyler and I went for a very chilly morning walk along the river. I am VERY glad we decided to postpone the maternity shoot. It was FREEZING!

These Geese were seriously regretting their early return north!

Oh, Jerome!

My husband and I just got back from a little holiday in Arizona to visit my parents who are gloriously lucky enough to winter there. As it was Tyler's first visit, we decided to fit in as many activities as possible. This meant making the journey up north to see the Grand Canyon, but more on that in another post. En route we took the scenic route and ended up in Jerome. This little art haven used to be the "wickedest town in the West". I think it still is, but with the adolescent definition of wicked, as in, Jerome is super awesome. Yes, I know I am a big nerd. Regardless, here are some photos of Jerome and Sedona!
Folk Art or junk yard? This was the yard of an old brothel turned boutique. Unfortunately for us, they were closed the day we were there.

Best Piece in Town! Another homage to Jerome's wild west past.

Jerome has a burgeoning wine industry. Who'd a thunk it? For $8 you can do a tasting. Of course we couldn't resist!

This photo really speaks to what Jerome is. The ruins of industry but now strangely beautiful.
The view the residents and visitors of Jerome are gifted with every day. It really is "North America's Most Vertical City."
This church was at the top of my dad's Sedona sightseeing wishlist. It truly is a wonder built right into the rocks.

At the Tuzigoot ancient ruins. They had quite a view themselves!

Pretty Provost

We spent a fantastic weekend in Provost, Alberta this January to celebrate a late Christmas with my husband's father and the rest of the family. They have a beautiful, peaceful farm outside of town and our time there is always a wonderful mix of calm relaxation, delicious home cooking (the BEST Norwegian Christmas baking!) and non-stop laughter and late nights. As I'm always the first to bed, I am often the first up. This early morning my husband braved the cold with me, coffee with Bailey's in hand, to take a few photographs.

A little promo shot for my father-in-law!

Having never spent any time on farms growing up, it is nice to get to visit one now. Especially one so pretty!
